»Malin Hellkvist Sellén WORKS 2003-2010 Texts by Hanna Wilde« In collaborative translation with Litia Perta
A queer feminist story of the choreographical work Malin Hellkvist Sellén has completed in 2003–2010 is created. The publication describes and analyse the choreographic works on the basis of queer and feminist theory. Hanna Wilde creates a written language for the ideas and experiences that the works embody, stage and express. The text discuss how the body, gender, sexuality and identity are negotiated and shifted in the works.
Hanna Wilde has a degree in Gender Studies and is currently studying for her MFA degree at Konstfack University College of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm. Hanna is the executive director for c.off, founded by choreographer Cristina Caprioli. Hanna Wilde’s artistic practice evolves around space, body and language, and is often presented through social, context and text based work.
Litia Perta is a writer and teacher. Litia is teaching in the Department of Art at the University of California, Irvine. She is working on a new book that will consider the intersections of contemporary art, dance, queer historiography and “disability.” She has recently published texts in Randy, Parkett, and Girls Like Us magazines. She earned her Doctorate of Philosophy in Rhetoric from the University of California, Berkeley in 2007 and has been critiquing American academic institutional training ever since. She is interested in bodies and breath, spirit and knowing and is always, always considering language.
