The principles

»The Principles« is a piece about norms for the performance of bodies, movement and choreography. It dealt with the constructions of itself, on conventions, definitions and on issues of power surrounding choreography. The starting point for The Principles was fundamental questions on the conditions for contemporary dance, about what is expected from a dance piece and from choreography.

Similar to earlier works, The Principles was driven by a willingness to question normative structures, to bring theory into practice and to start a dialogue to demonstrate the potential of contemporary dance when it comes to making thoughts tangible.
